Per Cygnet—l,ooo pieces timber, lfO cases kerosine, 20 mats sugar, 30 cases biscuits, 80 bags flour, a quantity of palings, 33 coils rope, and several packages sundry merchandise.
Inwards Coastwise.—Morning Light, for Cabbage Bay, with 18,000 ft timber; Penguin, from Whangarei, with 250 tons coal; Rose, from Mahurangi, with .13 bushels lime.
Outwards Coastwise.—Adah, for Russell Ocean, for Whangarei; Rose, for Mahurangi.
Tho schooner Cygnet, which was recently purchaseel by the Governor of Habnai, left for tho Islands last evening. She is to be handed over during the present voyage.
The 3.5. lona arrived from Whangarei at 1 a.m. to-day. Passengers : Mrs Munro, Misses Hay and Hancock, Messrs Lanigan, Vale, Keyte, Prescot, Cobb, Phillips, Storey, Steill, Hay, Niccol, Sherd, Harrison, Jones, Fergusson, White, and six in the steerage. Cargo :37 bags gum, 16 boxes eggs, and siintlries.
An inquiry into the stranding of the schooner Falcon in tho Waitara River Was held at New Plymouth yesterday. Tho Court found that the stranding had been caused by an error of judgment on tbo part of tbe master of the steamer Hannah Mokau in attempting to tow the vessel out of port two hours after high water, and with it short choppy soa.
