THK exhibition will be opened to-morrow evening by a conversation, at which His Excellency the Gnvernor will bo present. To the conversazione members only, and their friends, are to be admitted. The doors of the Choral Hall will be open to the public the next day, Thursday, at noon. The presence ot Sir William Jervois, together with tho excellence of the display, which excoeds anything of the kind yet seen in . .uckland, will no doubt attract a full attendance. The Choral Society's orchestra, under the conductorship of Herr Schmitt, has been practicing a number of musical selections, and the performers may be depended on to reach that standard of excellence for which they have become well-known. Invitations have been issued to tho officers of the English and German ships of war now in harbour. .. In addition to the collection of local artistic objects, the latest Mackelvie gift will be on view for the first time, It consists of over a hundred drawings and designs, which should prove in the future of great value to the students of art in Auckland. Altogether the forthcoming Exhibition gives every indication of unusual success. It will be open from tho 12th to the 19th April, with the exception of Tuesday, the 17th, when the Hall will be required for the practice of " Moses in Fgypt ,f by the Choral Society.
