Jessop and Peck havo determined not to pay the fines in the. illicit still cases, to prevent the polico receiving the reward. On leaving Palmerston for Wanganui gaol thoy were cheered by a number of sympathisers, prominent among whom were several witnesses for the Crown. The intention of those implicated is to give Peck and Jessop the amount of their fine on coming out of gaol. 1

At the Port Chalmers Police Court this morning Robert Waedrop was committed for trial for stabbing John Thomson.
