The Battle at Knssaesetin.

LONDON. August 29. OFFICIAL despatches havo boen received fully confirming the nows to hand of the attack by Arabi upon the British position at Ka'jnssain and the infliction of a severe defeat npon the enemy,

Too particulars now recoiyed stato that Arabi's force consisted of eight battalions of infantry, and a considerable body of artillery with light guns. The Britistk position was defended by three and a half battalions of infantry, a few cavalry, and a body of artillery with five guns.

After Arabi had made a aeries of unsuccessful assaults on the one position the Biiti-h assumed the offensive and made an assault on the enamy's front. The cavalry wcra employed on their fl»nk, and were completely successful, a great number of the enemy being eabred. Arabi commanded^hia force in person. After the British attack, the enemy withdrew and succeeded in taking their guns, which were uot capturod aa previously stated. A large supply of ammunition, however, "oil into the hands of the British.

The British cbargo was thoroughly mecessful, tho enemy being completely routed with the rosult nlready stated, their loss being very hoavy. The British loss is now otlicially at 7 killed and 61 wounded.
