BURGLARY IN SYMONDSSTREET.
£30 Worth of Property Stolen.
Between the hours of ten o'clock on Thursday night and six o'clock ye»terd»y morning, the premises of Mr Gilmour, draper, of Upper Symonds-street, were broken into, and a considerable quantity of goods removed. On rising yesterday nnrning, Mr Gilmour, who with his family resides at tbe roar of tho shop, found that the shutters of the shop window had been removed, and that the sash had been raised. Pursuing his investigations, he soon began to miss articles from his st«ck, and on making a hurried inventory, he discovered that at least £30 worth of coats, shirts, soarves, &c, bad been stolen. Mr Gilmour states that about two o'clock in the morning a slight noise-was heard, apparently proceeding from the shop, but no attention was paid to tbo occurrence. Some neighbours also heard a noise as of persons moving about in the shop. The mitter is in the hands of the police, but no clue, as yet been obtained as to the identity of the perpetrator or perpetrator) of the robbery. We may add that with the goods some seven shillings worth of coppers were taken.
