REPORTED RETURN OF SIR JULIUS VOGEL.

CfIriISTCMURCH, this day. The " Telegraph " tnis evening publishes the following :—" It has been known for some time that Sir Julius Vogcl contemplates returning to New Zealand, We are in a positon to state positively that in view of the crisis which ha? arisen he will leave London at the earliest opportunity. The advice to be tendered by Sir G. Grey to the Governor will be to the effect that he is prepared to carry on the business of the country, but His understood that Sir George is in communication with Sir Julius Vo^el, and that any Ministry that may be formed will be of a tentative character, pending a reply from London, The colony is evidently on tho eve of one of the mott peculiar political complications that has ever arisen/

THE -DISAGRCEMENT IM THE

CABINET,

The Lyttelton "Times" persists in emphatically asserting that Mr Bryce resigned u.foro the Premier for very different reasons to those alleged by the Ministerial journals, and puts quite a different complexion on the variously dated resignations. It says: " We are in a position to state that Mr Bryce's resignation was entirely unconnected with the resignation of the Premier. Its cause was altogether different. He was at variance with some of his colleagues oa native mafc.crs. That he was at variance with them we assert iv the most emphatic manner to a degree fatal to the continuance of Ministerial co-operation. The priority of date was in his case not by any means an accident, nor \vaß the priority in Major Atkinson and Mr Whitjker's case an accident. It was the result of siding with Mr Brycc."
