Tho Scnato resumed. Present: Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Professors Yon Haast, Salmond, Macgrcgor, Sband, Salo, Brown, Dr. Boseby, Mr Heale, Boy, Ml Habens, Bishop Cowic.

Military Oadetsbip. — Fov. Habens submitted tho report of the Committco on this subject, It recommended that circulars be issued to students, inviting applications for the military cadctshipat Sandhurst,—Report adopted.

SruciAL Meeting ov Senate,—The Vice-Chancellor moved, and it was agreed "That a special acssion of the Senate bo held at a timo and place to bo fixed by .the Chancellor for the purpose of granting the degrees and senior scholarships, on the receipt of the reports of the examiners, and transacting any business not involving principle or Interpretation." It was agreed that tbe nomination of a military cadet for Sandhurst should be a part of the business-. ThAWKS, — The Vico • Choncellor moved—"That tho thanks of the Senate bo givon to tho Hon. tho Attorney-General for tho accommodation which has been afforded to the Senate for its present meeting"—Carried. Bowbn Prize.—The Vico-Chancellor movod, "That the amount of the Bowen Prlzo for 1882 ba £s."—This was a reduction of one-half of tho amount oflercd in previous years, and was the full amount received from the sum invested by tho donor.—Carried.

Examinations.— The Vico-Ohancellor moved "That the entrance examination for 1882 commenco on Monday, December 11th. That the dogree examination for 1882 commence on Monday, November 13th."—Carried.
