The meeting of creditors in Lewis Bros, estate, caller! this day at E, A, Isaacs' store to declare a final dividend, lapsed owing to their being only one creditor present, exclusive of trustees.
A correspondent sends tlie following relative to burglaries at Newmarket :— " Sir,—Two burglaries have been committed in Newmarket during this week. It can't be Pluinnier, as he is safely lodged in Mount Eden. Mr Buckland's gardener's house was entired on Monday night, and about £310s taken. Mr Morgan found a mnn in his tedroom last night, butnnfortunacly he got away, leaving liis hat behind. Our police supervision is bad, in fact useles?. We have no resident constable, although the matter has been repeatedly laid befoic the authorities. It is impossible for constables resident in Parnell to look alter Newmarket. Law breakers of all descriptions have a good field in Newmarket.— Your?, etc, Shot.'
