We were in error in stating in our report of the Steeplechase in yesterday's issue that Rawenata fell at the first jump. It was Matau and Hawthorne, not Kawenata and Hawthorne, who came down. The mistake was shared iii by all on tbc Stand,, as, owing to the rain, the colours were almost indistinguishable. The nominations for the Auckland Derby of 18S4, and Mares' Produce Stakes of 1885, close to-morrow evening at 8 p.m. at the office of the A.X.C. Settling over the late race meeting took place last night at Tattcrsall's. The public were for the most part up to the mark while those "books" who had lost paid promptly. Some of the Southern men lost heavily. .. , The Cambridge races are now the contre of attraction in sporting circlep, though a fair amount of business is being done in doubles and straight out shots about the Wellington and Dunedin Cups. King Quail is much fancied for the former. The programme for the North Auckland District Races, to be held at Dargaville on the Ist and 2nd of March, 18S2, has been issued. There are six events on each day, tho fust day's raciDg including a Maiden Plate of 30?ots; Bushman's Purse o£ 55sova; Maiden Hurdles of 30bovs. ; Dargaville Cup of 120sovg.; Native Race of 15sovs. ; and Publicans' Purse 50sovs.; and the second day: Handicap Hurdles, 50sovs.; Kaipara Handicap, 120sovs.; Sellin" Race, 40sovs. ; Gumdiggcrs t urse, 55sovs.; Native Race, 15sovs. ; and Consolation, 25sovs. Total added money, £605. The nominations for the Dargaville Cup, Hurdle Kaoe, Publicans' Pureo, and Kaipara Handicap, c lose on Wednesday, January 18. The racehorses, Foul Play, Badswortli, Randwick, and Takapuna Maid, and the well known cross-country horecs Rawenata ; (winner of the Hurdle Handicap on Boxing Day), and Hawthorne, will be offered for sole, by auction,, at Buckland's yards tomorrow,
