[by telegraah. —OWN correspondent!]

WELLINGTON, this day. The " PoBt" in a leader to-night on the subject of entail, urges thrt some broad sample, be laid down of preventing the custom of entail and of promoting as far as possible the distribution of lauded estate to the widow and all the children of tne testator. It would, it cays, be a grave evil to great masses of people in New Zealand if many large estates continued to be created, and such state things were not to be permitted to grow up. It concludes: " Above all let laws affecting bequests of property be so framed as to get rid of the grip of the dead man's hand."
