. Carriage Accident.

As Mrs Edgar (wife of the dyor), and her daughter and son were drivine down Greystreet into town this morning in a dogcart, the horse suddenly bolted. Before ho could be pulled up tho vehicle collided with a cart belonging to Mr McArthur. The shook threw the occupants of tho dog cart on to the street, while tho cart itself was smashed to pieces. A number of people at once rushed to the assistance of the ladies, when it was found that Mrs Edger had broken her knee-cap, besides spraining both ankles. Miss Edger received a severe cut on the head, while Master Edger escaped with some slight injuries. They were removed to the shop in Wellesley-Btreet, and Drs. Purchas and Wright sent for. It is believed that the accident was caused by the breeching strup giving way.
