MELBOURNE, Tuesday. It is suspected that the missing box of gold was landed at the Bluff or Hohart Town. It has transpired that the duplicate key of the Tararua's bullion-room has been lost.
Mr Adam Cairn?, formerly of this city, has just returned from a two years tour in England, Scotland, and on the Continent; and feeling in full trim and vigour of health, has completed arrangements for taking the Star Hotel in Albert-street, and Mr R. J. Davidson, who has conducted the Star tor so long with business tact and ability assumes the proprietorship of the Albert Hotel in Queen-street. Both gentlemen have had large experience in the hotel line and are well adapted to sustain the reputation of the leading hotels of the city.
MELBOURNE, November 15. In the cricket match Victoria versus Adelaide, the former won the match by 7 wickets.
The Wagga Wagga Turf Club have endorsed the disqualification of Mata.
