At the wool sale to-day 6,200 bales were catalogued, making a total of 164,300 catalogued since^ tho opening. Prices were firmly maintained. . The Duke of Bedford has been created a Knight of the Garter.

Board of Trade Returns. The Board of Trade return of exports for last mouth amouut to £19,125,000, being an increase of £175,000 compared with last year. The imports amounted to £31,187,500, being an increase of £2,687,500.

Eleven.

The cricket match, Australians v. eleven of AH England was resumed to-day at Oval. Tho Australians continued their second innings, and madij a splendid stand against the bowling of the Englishmen. The innings closed for 327 runs, Murdoch being not out for 153. Alexander scored 33 and waa caught. Tho Home team than required 5G runs to win the match, and they went in for their second inninge. They obtained the required number with the loss of fivo wickets, and won the match by five wickets. There was again a largo attendance, and great interest was taken in the contest. Bulgaria and Roumelia have determined to combine their forces, and have entered into a league for mutual defence and the carrying out of internal reforms. Hanlon and Trickett. Hanlon is expected to arrive iv England on the 19th lnst. Trickett is rapidly improving in condition, and now shows some of his old rowing form. Overtures havo been made to the French Government with a view of obtaining some concession in respect to the ordered closing of schools belonging to the Jesuits, the Dominicans, and other teaching orders. The Jesuits havo stated their willingness to secularize their schools, and have promised to take no part in politics for thefuture. The offers havo been accepted and it is understood that the colleges and schools of the ordera named will be reopened. | LONDON, September 3.
