AUCKLAND PETITIONS,

Iv the House this afternoon Mr Swauson presented the following petitions :- From Henry Nicol, stating that the petitioner was induced by the Provincial Government to erect a patent slip to repair vessels in Auckland, but by the subsequent action ot the Harbour Board ho was prevented from carrying on business, and prays consideration of his case ; petition from Thos. Short, that the Native^prisonerswho escaped from Kawau plundered his goods to the value of £350, for which no compensation has beca paid, and he prays consideration.
