Ihe land opca tor sale on tbw Block consists of tho back portion, and has been cub' divided into Lots of areas abova indicated. Tho quality of tho soil is overywhero good, and jb generally ccvaroJ. with, a dense growth of fern ar.d tutu on tho hills, with deep gullies nenerally with bush in them, and. pleut'fully supplied wilh water. Tho surface is termed with a series of ridges, averaging some about 1200 ft. high, with little or no level land, it is, however, well adapted for small sheep runs. - The bush found in rho gullies ia generally light, consisting principally ot Kowhai, Titoki, Tawa, and a Jittle Totara and Ximu here and there. Grass seems to tako well where the fern has been burnt off. On adjacent lands near tho coast the fern has very generally disappeared from tho hille, before the lires and the sheep, and they are now covered with a fine sward of the " native poa " grass, which seems to extend itself immediately tho surface is demised ot fern ; and these same hills are described as having been a few years since as thickly covered with fern and i utu as tho country now open in the Wairoa Block. Block IV.: Section 1, 2. 3, 4, undulating fern, tutu, and grass hills, excellent soil on river Hate. A well-formed bridle road runs through these sections. Block X : Section 1, broken fern and tutu hills; Section 2, broken fern and tutu lull", with a little bush, excellent soil on river flat; Sections 3 and 4, undulating fern and tutu li'll j, with ft little bush, excellent soil on river flats; Section C, broken fern and * tutu hills, excellent soil on river flat. A wollformed bridle road runs through Sections 2. 3, and 4. Blocks VL. Vir., VIII., IX.. Xl. t XIII., XIV., XV.. XVI., XVII.: Third-class land broken hill?, cohered with fern, tutu, and a little grass, suitable for runs. Many of these blocks have timber, such us roc1 piuc and totara, on them. They are a1! well watered, and are accessible from Clyde, Wairoa, by a bridle road lately formed, partly through some of them, by the Government, and by the excellent ConBtabulary bridle road from Fiaser Town to Lake Waikaremoana. Tiio soil is light, pumiceous or vegetable on the hills, with rich alluvial maily deposits along the main and other rive flats. A little bush is to be found in the gullies, bat not Bufflicient for foncingpurposes. Abcmd.irceof watereverywhere. A well-made bridle roud runs along the Waikaretaheko Hivcr, giving access to sewral of these Sections, tho noireet of which is distant about 14 miles from Clyde, Wairoa.
