4. (BY TELEGRAPH.) HAWERA, this day. At tho Parihaka meeting To Whiti spoke in tho morning aud afternoon, mostly iv a' very blasphemous way, styling himself "Jesus Christ," and "the Holy Trinity" as well. His speech was rambling right throughout. Toliu spoke in the wharo in tho evening to tho elfect that the Government had been overtaken with trouble, aud everything was dark before them ; that he (Toliu) had disturbed the waters so that they could not see through it, but he (Toliu) was joyful, for the day was approaching. The prisoners could not be released until lie took his foot from oil' tho land. The Government are anxious for some sign of anxiety from him about the prisoners, but he did not feel it; they had no power over them, for ouly lie (Toliu) could release them. He did not send the prisoners to create tulle with the wise men of tho Government, hut to create a disturbance with the men of quarrels. The time had not yet come. " 1 have been tempted," he said, " but the time has not yet arrived for the prisoners to return, louring the stay of prisoners iv Wellington all thiugs shall be completed."
