He is eight yeara old, perfectly sound, gcod tempered, and has proved a sure foa'-getter. He is descended from some of the host trotting stock in Hngland, by "Rqyul Oak," grandsiro " Perfection," dam by " Quicksilver," granddam by "PrickwiTow." "Perfection" was by "Catton." and "Cat'on" by "Bay Beckingham," hißdam by Lord Scarborough's " Catton," granddam ty " Pretender," tho sire of "Performer." iPret-ndei" was by Mr Jenkinson's "Old Fire Away," who covored in Lond on for several years at five guineas, and trotted two miles on the Oxford Koad in five minutes, and immediately sold for one thousand guineas; and "Catton" won the Koyal Agricultural Society's Prize at Lincoln as the best Trotting Stallion in England. "Young Performer" took the Firat Prize for the best Koadster Stallion against all horses at the New Zealand Agricultural Society's Cattlo Show, 1877. .
