Government contemplates augmenting the number of recruits for the army by 23,000 yearly. This will require an additional expenditure of 27,000,000 marks. Admiral Batsch, having been sentenced to six months' imprisonment by tho Grosser Kurfurut court-martiaj, has tendered his resignation, and Captain Clansa has given himself up to serve a mouths' imprisonment. Admiral Yon Hock, chief of the Imperial Admiralty, will be forced to resign for defending Batsch in the Reichstadt. A cannon burst on board tho gunboat Renown at Wilhehnshausen, killing five and wounding twenty-five persons. Detectiveshave been ordered to Kissengcn for the protection of Prince Bismarck.
