Great Britain. August 4. Contracts for the supply of coals to the British ironclads, now iv Besika Bay> mention Mediterranean ports, Constantinople, Gallipoli, and ports in the Sea of Marmora as possible places of delivery. A dispatch to the " Times " from Dublin says : A bitter feud has arisen among Home Rulers owiug to Mr Paruoll, of Meath, abusing Mr Shaw, of Cork, in a speech at Limerick.
An Emigration Association has been formed at Sheffield for the purpose of aiding workiugmen to obtain a livelihood in the Western States of America.

In the Commons, July 20th, the Government re-introduced o bill to enable the banks to limit the liability of shareholders to twice the amount of their paid-up capital. The bill, as re-introduced, applies to Scotland and Ireland as well as England. The objections of the Scotch members are thus appeased, aud the bill, was read a second time.
Warwickshire minors' wages have been reduced ten per cent. The "Civil Service Gazette" says tho sentence of the Court-martial on Lieut. Carey, in South Africa, was death, ExEmpress Eugenic had written to the Queen begging that no punishment be indicted. Statistics concerning the Oldham cotton trade are published. Seven American fillies have been nominated for the Oaks. Pnpooso, an American horse, ran for tho Goodwood Richmond Stakes aud came in sixth. The winner was Bender.
In the contest for the Armourers' Company Prize at Wimbledon on the ICth ultimo Frank Hyde (American), LieutenantColonel Feutou, aud another, made each seven consecutive bulls-eyes, the highest possible in the contest. Volunteer (Jil)3on (Canadian) won the Prince of Wales's Prize, £100 and the badge. The match between sixteen Canadian and sixteen Liverpool Volunteers for the silver cup was won by the former. The six prizes in the Wbitcly competition have been pooled and equally divided among the competitors who made tlie highest possible scores. The Elcho Challenge Shield was won by tho Scotch team. Scotland, 1,505; Ireland, 1,494 ; England, 1.482. The Nottingham team of cricketers leave for America on August 28.
The Goodwood Stakes race was won by Bay Archer, Mistress of the itobessecond, tiockhampton third. Lorillaid's Geraldiue (American) won tho Levant Stakes. The Malcolm Stakes race was won by a brother of Ersiliu. The "Sportsman" says it is plain the American horse Parole is not a good stayer. 250 emigrants, from Iceland for Minnesota, U.S., bad arrived at Granton. Casey, ex-Fenian, has been elected Coroner of East Limerick County. O'Leary, the Fenian, has beeu permitted to visit Ireland on account of urgent business. 1,300 sheep from Boston, infected with foot aud mouth disease, were slaughtered iv Liverpool on July S.
On the question of restricting capital punishment in the army, a party of Liberals in the Commons, on the Sth, endeavoured to force a total abolition of capital punishment altogether. The Marquis of Hurtington repudiated all responsibility for their action. Chamberlain, member for Birmingham, said, amid Kadical cheers: "The Marquis of llartington, who was formerly leader of tho Opposition, is now only leader of a section."
The House of Lords bus instituted inquiry into slavery in Cuba. Lord SelboUO stated Spain had not fulfilled her cngagemijuts on the subject.

In consequence of a report that an attempt would be made on Saturday, 19th July, to wreck the Hoyal Railway en route from Windsor to Portsmouth, the most extraordinary precautions were taken. The Orange celebration in Ireland on the 12th passed off with only a few cases of shooting and .stoning. One death is reported. The authorities have taken extra precautions because of the excitement in consequence of the debate in Parliament on the Government's Irish University Bill.

The Key Mr Talmage continues a sensation iv London. On Tuesday, Bth July, he lectured at Crystal Palace. The trains from London thither took down immense crowds, .md it was estimated that from 20,000 to 30,000 persons listened to, or at least saw, the lecturer. The Marquis of Townseud presided. On Wednesday and Saturday Talmage lectured in Exeter Hall. Lord Kiurose presided, and many of the nobility were present. The Brooklyn divine has addressed no less than from 70,000 to SO, 000 persons.
