We quote: Oats from 2s; .Id to 3s 3d; maize, 3s 4d to 3s 9d ; bran, £5 10s to £G ; pollard, £6 ; oatmeal, £15 ; malt, 9s Gd; hams and bacon-(in cloth) have firmed and are worth IOJ-d; Canterbury cheese, best,,Bd per lb.; potatoes, £5 10s to £6.105; corned butter, 7d to lOd; fresh butter,.ls 3d; eggs, lOd.

A large quantity forced on tho market would cause prices to .recede considerably. Butter is in small demand at lower rates ; cheese firm at 7d to Sd ; hams and bacon in good demand, prime Sd to 9d per lb. Shares : Bank of New Zealand, £1S to £18 5s ; National, 62s Gd ; Colonial, 41s to 41s Gd ; Insurance—Union, £12 13s; National, 21s Gd to 22s ; South British, 60s; Standard, 10s to 12s ; Colonial, 4s. LABOUR MARKET. There is a very slight improvement in the domand for odd hands about farms, Other lines are very quiet. Wages have declined considerably." Gardeners are now Wanted.
