LARCENY. - ■ RobertForshaw was charged with stealing two saws, one plane, one chisel, and several other articles, valued at 15s, the property of J. Craig, at Auckland. Sub-Inspector Pardy said the constable on duty in Queen-street saw the prisoner with a bag in his hand, and being suspicious of him followed him, and on examining the contends found the tools already described. '.' i onstable Dodd said he was on duty in Queen-street at half-past three on Saturday afternoon. He asked the prisoner what ho had in the bag. 11 c said they were sonic tools ho .was itaking care of for a -mans who promised to meet him at tho top of Hobsonstreet. Thomas Craig said lie remembered' leaving hip tools at a little outhouse in Fortstreet, near his father's office. He had been using them,, and left them there when he had finished. Nelson Ireland was charged with failing to pay fof the support of his three children in the lawful cc^ody of his wife, being in arrears £11, alsb'wi.h assaulting Constable Abrahams whilst in the execution of his duty by seizing him round the waist and throwing him down, and also wilfully destroying one uniform and cap, the property /.f Constable Abrahams, at Aucldaud.
