THE RODNEY ELECTION.
(To the Editor of the Stae.) Sir —I have just been shown a letter in your paper of J Saturday last on th e above signed by "Rodney." I am not sure that it is wise to take notice of such productions, but I would suggest to " Rodney" aud others who are endeavouring by misrepresentation to damage me in the eyes of the Rodney electors, that in reality they are damaging their own cause. A very large number of the Rodney electors are intimately acquainted with nil the facts upon which " tiodney's" charges are founded, aud I may tell "Rodney" for a fact that I know the reiteration ot these utterly false and groundless charges has given great olienco to some of the electors who are not on my side. ''Fair play is bonuy play," and let it ouce be thoroughly understood in the Rodney electorate that gross, falsehoods and all underhand means are being used to damage my cause, then at that moment my cause is gained.—l am, &c,, H. W. Farnall. A ugust 23, 1879.
