CANTERBURY NOTES.
CHRISTCHURCH, this day. "Sinbad" in the "Weekly Press" says Mr P. Butler has leased the Maribyrnong Stables for the season, aud has now at work Laertes, Fiction, The Agent, Fenelhv, and Te Whetu. Tho last named has just been purchased by Mr Butler, while Fenella will probably remaiu at Maribyrnong till after the Geraldine Races. Derrit is, lam sorry to hear, still unable to get in the saddle, and means, I believe, to keep quiet for some time yet. The Middle Park Com. pany are to be congratulated. Mr Calvert informs me of the advent of a fine colt foal by Traducer out of Idalia.
