The weekly sales were well attended yesterday. Mr." K. Arthur reports as follows -.—Fowls sold at Is Sd to 2s lid; Spanish, 23 9d to 5s 9d; ducks, 2s 3d . peese, 43 7d; turkeys, 4s ; small pigs, 9s to 13s 9d; potatoes, local grown, 6s to 6s 6d ; Canteibury 5s 6d to 6s 6d ; (a lot damaged ex Wild Wave, 4s); onions, id to 2d; melons, Is 9d to 2s 4d : pumpkins, 2s to 3s 3d ; carrots, 3s 6d to 4s; swedes, Is 6d to Is 9d ; kumaras, gd per lb ; apples, Id to 3Jd; pears, 2£d to 2Jd; fowl wheat, 3s 3d to 4s. oats, 3s to 3s 6d ; maize. 3s Id to4s; bran 5s Cd to 6s 6d ; oatmeal, 18s to 193 : flour, £10 ; bacon and hams (bare), Canterbury, by the case, BJd, bacon (local cure), 7d to lOd; lard, 7-Jd to Sd; butter, 5d to Is; honey, 4d to 6d.
Thu .sale of new and second hand furniture was favourable under the hammer of Mr Arthur.
Mr B. Greenwood sold as follows : — Ducks, 2s lOd to 3s each ; fowls, 2s 10 each ; goose, as to Gs cioh; turkeys, 5s to 6s 6d each. Potatoes, 6s 6d per cwt. Trees (ornamental, fruit, and forest), plants, and shrubs realised fair prices. Furniture, sundries, &c 3 sold well.
