THE GOVERNOR'S RECEPTION.
A" mbetiso of the S^tive Committee appointed to make arrangements- for the Eble reception of, his. Excelkncy the Governor upon his arrival in Auckland was held this morning in the City Council Chamber, the Mayor presiding. I; was agreed that His ExceUency and suite should be drawn in from Onehunga by way of Epsom, Newmarket, and Parnell, and that a cavalry escort should be provided. Ihe remainder of the programme already drawn up, viz., the presentation of an address of •welcome under the arch in Lower .Queenstreet, and the procession thence _to QtQr vernment House, it was determined to adhere to; a sub-committee wasjdeputed to make arrangements for the stabling of the horses of the cavalry, etc., should they come to Auckland, while to another subcommittee was entrusted the task of drawing up a programme for the guidance and direction of tbe procession, the sa^d, programme to be presented at a meeting w the Executive Committee on Thursday. APPOINTMENT OF JCOMMITTEBS. The following flub-conimittees for carrying ont details in connection wijfch the re* ception ball were appointed at a meeting of the ball stewards thia afternoon.:— . the Secretaries, and Mr J. M. Clark (con vener).
