CHRISTCHURCH this j^J Ybsterdat, a Tire accured at Wilsons" Tannery WoOlstone, by which the drying room was destroyed. The river Heathcole being close at hand and plenty of hands a.ailablc, the fire was confined to this com-' partment, which was of brick, with three,; wooden floors. Had the engines been sent' for from Christchurch the five could have been much sooner extinguished. The estimated damage is from £500 to £600 Insurance oh the particular building buriied £400 iv the Victoria -Office. A defective flue was probably the cause of the ftte.' '
