DISTRICT PRIZE FIRING.—CADETS.
Tin-: cadets competed for district prizes at the Mount Eden l.ausc on Saturday aftcrnoiiu. The tiring commenced at 1 o'clock. There wero 34 competitors, but a number of the lads retired at. the second range. Major Dorrom, assisted by Serjeant-Major Haslem and Captain White, conducted the bring. The ranges wero 100, 200, and 300 yards, and live shots at. each range. The following aro the names of the prize-winners, and the amounts of the prizes :— Ist, Hiunkavd, -Hi, £2 ; 2nd, Murphy, 42, £1 10s ; 3rd, Lee, 40, £1 ; 4th, Lawrence, 30, 1.. ; sth, Shaw, 3(5, 10s j (ith Edmonds, 33, 7s (Id; 7th, Mills, 31, 7s (id; Bth, Copstako, 31, ss. There wore no range prizes.
