"CINDERELLA" AT THE THEATRE.
A goodt y number of citizens attended at the Theatre Royal last evening, for the purpose of witnessing the burlesque extravagarza of "Cinderella," which was preoededby the pleasant comedy of "Loan of a Lo»er." "Cinderella," one of the fairy tales of childhood, was worked up with much skill by Mr a. Byron, the popular piay-wrlght, who. in consequence of a want of reliable materials for tho true life of the fairy, has called into requisition imagination and fancy, and fairly re-constructed the tradition. The costumes of the performers were rich in style, aud every thins? was done by the manager for the due reception of the fairy, who was agreeably impersonated by Miss Jennie Nye, in th^ bappie»t manner. Mr Hydes represented "ohlorinda," Mr Wilkinson, "Thisbe," and Miss Liston appealed as tbe " Fairy Queen. 57 Mr Love was the "Baron,"and Mr Alexander " Alido-ro." The Misses Johns were very effective in their renderings. The comedy of " Loan of a Lover," with Miss Nye as " Gertrude," and Mr Hydes as the veritable " Peter Spyke." were unique. The same bill of fare will be offered tbi9 evening.
