Robbery of Mails.

A most serious cuse of stealing letters from a mail bag has been brought to light. About a fortuight ago Mr Kilian, chief Post-office messenger, received from the p.s. Enterprise a mail bag, which bore traces of having been tampered with on. the passage from the Thames. The police were at once communicated with, and several days ago portions of letters evidently out of the same bag, were found on the beach at Point Chevalier. There is, therefore, little doubt that the mail bag was broken upon by some scoundrel during the passage, and a portion of the contents abstracted. It is to be hoped, in the interests of the public at large, that the offender may be brought to justice and puuished, according to his deserts.
