Durbar! is the Indiau term for an audience Chamber or reception. On the 18th October, 1864, a durbar was held at Lahore by the Viceroy of India, Sir John Laurence, at which 604 of the most illustrious Princes and chieftains of the north-west provinces Avere present, magnificently attired. Similar durbars were held in 1866, 1867. On the 27th March, 18G'J, Sir Seymour Fitzgerald, Governor of Bombay, held a great durbar of the Princes of \vi stern India at Poona, and on the 22nd October, 1870, the Earl of Mayo, Viceroy, held a solemn durbar at Ajtncre, in Rajpootana.
