Kyber Pass Stopped

LONDON, Dec 31
The hill tribes of Afghanistan have again stopped the Kyber Pass against the British advance.
The British fleet has returned to Ismid Bay.
Four of the Ameer's regiments have deserted him.
Three - fourths of General Biddulph's column have reached the Kandahar Plain. A general advance was ordered on for the 3rd inst.
A gun exploded on board H.M. ironclad Thunderer at Imid. The explosion destroyed a turret, killed seven, and wounded forty others.
