The mail steamer City of New York arrived from Sydney at nooa to-day, after a passage of 4 days and IB hours. We are indebted to Mr S. A. Oobb, commander, loft Sydney at 3.15 p.m. January 2; discharged pilot at 3.50 p.m.. and cleared Sydney Heads ac 4.10 p.m. On board leaving Sydney, 40 cabin end 3fi steerage passengers, 2114 pkgs, 92 tons cargo. 118 bags mail, and 2300 tons coal. Experienced strong N.E. wind with heavy sea till the morning of the 4th; since then, light northerly winds with pleasant weather. 1 hreo Kina-3 Inlands abeam on tho Cth at 12.30 p.m.; Norih Cane abeam at 6 p.m. same day ; kreat Barrier abeam at 5.30 a.m. the 7th. ook pilot on board on the 7th at 10.35 a.m. lime from Sydney : i days, 16 hours, 45 minutes.
