EXTRAORDINARY ESCAPE OF A

CHILD.

A most extraordinary escape from drowning Avas reported to the police yesterday. Some boys, sons of Mrs Redman, Avere playing on the beach near Greenfield and Stewart's sawmills, at about 9 o'clock in the morning, Avhen they saAV a child about three years of age floating in the water. They managed to get it ashore in an insensible state, and took it to their mother, who undressed the little Avaif, bathed it in warm water, and poured Avine and Avater down its throat.
