MECCA WRECK.
THE SYDNEY, Jan, Ist. The Mecca was wrecked ova reef near Thursday Island, wheie the crew and passeu-eis were lauded, and from there they weic saved, and were brought oil by the steamer Ocean bound to Sydney. About the same time as the Mecca was wrecked the Occau went ashore, but was got oil by the steamer Terrauor. Sailed : Wakatipu for Wellington. SYDNEY, this day. It is stated that there is every prospect of a settlement of the dispute between the A.S.N. Company and the strikers by mediation. _ TATTERSALL'S CUP. For the TattersalPs Cup Beerwood was first, Melbourne second, and Coliina thhd. Beerwood won by two lengths.
