PAINFUL ACCIDENT.
An accident of a very painful nature occurred to Mr T. J. Brassey at Motuihi yesterday. He was rabbit shooting with several companions, and had left them in pursuit of game. - One of his friends was in the act of firing at a rabbit, when Mr Brassey appeared suddenly on the brow of a small hill about 30 yards distant. It was too late to prevent the discharge of the gun, and he was struck by several of the shots. One entered his forehead, another his hand, while a third buried itself in the flesh above the right temple. The shots were extracted by DrHaynes, who does not consider the wounds dangerous. The patient is progressing satisfactorily.
