Sad Affair at Epsom.
A CHILD SERIOUSLY SCALDED BY
HER BROTHER,
Information was received in town to-day of a very Bad occurrence which took place at Epsom this morning, by which a child was severely scalded by her brother. It appears, from what we can gather in connection 'Avith the matter that the victim, a child of eighteen months of age, named Ada Violet Lennard, was lying in a cradle iv the house ot her parents at Epaom, when her brother, a little boy only four years of age, got hold of a ladle full of boiling water, and poured it over the infant. A servant girl, was in the room at the time, and her attention was attracted by the screams of the little girl. Assistance was promptly obtained, and the usual remedies applied for the relief of the pain. The child's breast is Bcalded severely, but it was not known whether the wounds were dangerous or not. A messenger, who was despatched to town arrived here about eleven o'clock this morning, and he was successful in obtaining medical assistance.
