WELLINGTON, this day. The county delegates J-rriet I to-day arid sat till one. It was a most imposing assemblage of bucolic fntellect. The old provincial councils were put in the shade. Delegates sometimes addressed each other as'hon. members, and'spoke lof " thisfAssembly." or"this House, etc. Motions were carried in favour of a trienuial county valual tion with an annual valuation for supplying ommissions.including lands acquired from the Crown, transfer, and general annual valuations made "permissive. They also passed a -resolution in -favour of some; equitable provision , for taking lands for road purposes, whether Crown granted lauds, or lands held by natives under native tenure. The Conference carried a resolution in favour of making Chinese on goldfields pjay £2 for a miner's right to go to the Bounty Fund, the county chairman to J issue the ■ rights.
