In part of No. 3 winze the reef is two feet, showing gold freely. The monthly retorting took place on Monday. The criminal sessions of the Supremo Court opened on Monday. Eleven cases are on the calander including rape, robbery, manslaughter, wounding with intent, unmentionable offence. It has been resolved to form a Joint Stock Company for the purpose of erecting a temperauce Hotel, to possess attractions in the shape of amusements. It is also intended to endeavour to establish a working Mens' Club in connection with it.

SHOOTING.

64 coursing licenses, and 163 shooting licenses were taken out here this season. It is expected that the pheasant shooting will be temporarily stopped next year. John Bishop Hunter was brought back from Melbourne for embezzling monies belonging to the Government, while in their employas as surveyor, has been committed to trial.
