THEATRE ROYAL.
"THE WOMAN IN RED."
THERE was not a good attendance at the Theatre Royal last evening to witness the second production of the "Woman in Red." This is, however, easily accounted for by the inclemency ot the weather. Th c piece was exceedingly well mounted, and certainly deserved a better reception. Mr J. B. Steele as Victor Lansom in the first part, and Hecter Fiaramouti afterwards, acted with .ability, and did ample justice to both char aeters. Mrs Walter Hill played well aRudiga the Woman in red, and Miriam, and she was several times called before the curtain to receive the enthusiastic plaudits of the audience. Miss CorajMclan appeared ■to much better advautage than usual as Ninon and Ninette; and she played with •considerable spirit throughout. Miss Lily May made a really good Francisca Douati, and was frequently applauded. Praise is also due to Miss Jessie Raymond, Messrs C. Burford, H. W. Emmett" J. O'Brien, J. Musgrave, and J. Tyrrel, for the very successful representations of tho characters alloted to them. On the whole, the play was well placed on the stage, aud the manner of its entire performance reflected infinite credit on the Company. "BROKEN TIES" THIS EVENING. This evening a new comedy drama entitled "Broken Ties," will be presented for the first time.
DEPARTURE OF THR HON. J. MACANDREW. The Hon. J. Macandrew, accompanied by Messrs Conyers, and Lawson, a»d other gentlemen, left for Kaipar by special steamer this morning
