The Land Tax Bill introduced into the Assembly provides for the appointment of three Commissioners to act as a Court of Summary Jurisdiction, also for the appointment of classifiers. It was read a second time by a large majority. The Roman Catholics all over the country are petitioning against the Education Bill. Owing to a decision of the Supreme Court that appointments to Harbour Trust made by the Governor in Council are illegal, the whole of the past proceedings of the Board are invalidated, and require a special Act. Heavy rainfalls occurred \ at tiie end of last week, but ks still insufficient. The small pox patients will be released on Saturday. A fatal 'bus accident occurred.
