AUCKLAND FOOTBALL CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Auckland Football Club was held at the Thames Hotel last night. Mr T. Henderson occupied the chair, and there were about a dozen members present. The. report of 'ast season's operation was read, and showed that the Club had played fi\'e matches; viz. : 1. Auckland Football Club v. North Shore. Avhich Avas drawn, with four forces a-side. 2. Auckland Football Club v. Parnell Football Club. Won by 1 goal and 1 try, to nothing. 3. Auckland Football Club v. Ponsonby (12 a\ 14). DraAvn in favour of Ponsonby Football Club, by 2 tries to nothing. 4. Ditto, return (14 v. 15). Drawn in favour of Auckland Football Club, by 2 trie's lo nothing. 5. Auckland Football Club A'. Grafton Football Club. Won by Auckland Football Club, by 1 goal and 5 tries, to nothing. The Club members took part in other matches during the season, viz:—l. Auckland and North Shore Clubs v. the Naval Squadron. Draavii in favour of landsmen by 1 try. 2. New Zealand v. World. Won by New Zaalanders by I goal. 3. Interprovincial Team v. All-comers. Won by former by I try. 4. Thames Team v. Allcomers. Won by first-named by 2 tries to nothing. 5. Auckland v. Canterbury. G. Auckland A r. Waikato. The balance sheet showed 15s to the credit of the club. The report was adopted, and the following officers Avere elected: Mr Thos. Henderson, junr., Captain, Mr Woon, secretary, Messrs Uuugeon, bnariand, and H. Whitaker, committee. It was decided to fix the subscription as in preceding seasons, at 2s Gd for old members, and os for new members. A motion was passed affirming the desbability of a meeting of de egates from all clubs to arrange matters of common interest and fix a programme of matches. Mr Thos. Henderson Avas requested and consented to act as the club's delegate. The following suggestions Avere carried by a majority, and iVir Jtteudersun was requested to supp.rt,- them at a meeting of delegates : " Th .t in th'> event of a player belonging to- more than one club, he shall decide at the commencement of the season, Avhich he shall play for in the event of those clubs playing against one another." "That scoring be by points as follows, a goal, 5 try at goal 2, and that ' forcedowns' do not count at ail." A letter was read from Mr W. Robinson, of the Thames, suggesting that a distinguishing badge be Avorn by players selected for interprovincial matches. A A-ariety of designs were suggested, as, for instance, the Moa, the Kiwi, « fepn leaf, a fig-leaf, and one gentleman suggested the discarded Eden County Senl. After a lively discussion, in which the desirability of a provincial badge was coincided in, it \va< resolved to leaA-e the matter in the hands of the delegates. A vote of thanks to the chairman was passed, aud the meeting broke, up.
