A MAGNIFICENT IMPORTED BULL.

While the ship Electra was coming alongside this afternoon, a great many persons Were waiting on the wharf anxious to get a look at the magnificent short-horn bull, which she has brought to this colony from England to the order of Messrs Brown Campbell and Co. The animal was to be Been occupying a crib on the mainhatch, and as its head was towards the people they had a good view. It is not long ago. since Captain 'Rails brought out in the City of Auckland some cattle which were said to be the finest ever imported into this colony. The beast on board the] Electra is undoubtedly superior to those, undeniably good as they were. He is a rich roan shorthorn about two years old, and of colossal size for such a young animal. He is large, without coarseness, and has splendid points, being as level as a table on his back, broad across the quarters, deep in the girth, with short legs, and a neat head, with intelligent eye. After such a long voyage, he shews wonderful condition, in fact he would not be considered poor were he fresh from the padtlock. He sustained no injury whatever in the heavy weather, and has passed through the trying ordeal of a long sea voyage, as very few animals have before \m $* \rw $iuns by Umw BtW{W

and Co., of Gray's Hall, Essex. He is to b i landed this afternoon, and taken to Mr, = A. Buckland's sale yard. The value of this animal is said to be over £1000.

The name of this valuable animal is Whipper-in, and he boasts a pedigree as lone; as a man's arm, comprising some of the best strains in England. Three of his relatives were sold in England for nearly £20,000.
