AN ALARMING ACCIDENT.

Tub coronation of tho May Queen at Krratsi»._ Monday was witnessed by some thousands of persona, who came from Liverpool, Manchester, and other town, from which the railway consumes ran special trains. The proceedings (says tbe Liverpool Post) commenced by a procession of the children belonging to the schools in the town to the parish church. After a short service there, headed by the baDds of the volunteers they paraded the town and reached Knutsford Heath, where tho coronation took place. Immediately bßfore the ceremony about twenty yards of a wooden erection, on which there were some 200 people, gave way with a great crash, precipitating that number of persona to the ground. At first it was feared that many persons had been hurt, but it afterwards transpired that although several ladies, who had been severely shaken, had fainted, they were not otherwise injured, except by fright. The procession included the Queen, (MiS3 Eleanor Toft, a scholar at the Parochial bchools) who was oseorted by her maid? of honor, the crown and sceptre bearars, haef-eaters, the May Day footguards, tho Koyal jesters, the representative of trade, and other state dignitaries. The youthful Quoen was crowned with a solemnity becoming the occasion, after which she was presented with the sceptre. The coronation baing thus over, the bands struck up " God ,'savo tho Queen." The ohUdren danced and sang round the May-pole, and subsequently they were served with tea. _____
