NEW ZEALAND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
.Che usual monthly meeting of this Society was held at the Criterion Hotel, Oisahuhu, yesterday. There was a very poor attendance, only six gentlemen being present.— Mr_ Luke was voted to the chair, and explained the business, which was to decide whether it would be desirable to hold the Annuai Show this year. A discussion took place on the subject, and the question of funds was gone into. The secretary stated that last year £220 5s had been paid in prizes, and the chairman gave it as his opinion that the expenses of a show this year would be £500. After some further information had been asked and given, it was deemed unadvisable to come to a decision with so few members present. Accordingly, the following resolution, proposed by Mr Owen McGee, was carried unanimously : " That a special meeting Bhould be held that day fortnight at the Criterion Hotel, Otahuhu, to decide the matter, and that in the meantime circulars should be printed and sent round to the members of the Society, notifying them of the same, and asking tbeir presence." Mr R. McGee said if the meeting was not well attended, he intended to move a resolution that the Society be wound up.
