Assault in an Auction Mart.

The progress of the large drapery sale of Messrs Grant and Morton was interrupted to-day, by the persistent annoyanoe of the well-known general dealer, Joseph Rogers, whose temper so far overcame his good sense, that ho made a savage rush at Mr Morton, and seized him by the throat in a violent manner, breathing threats of a terrible nature, but which were not immediately carried into execution. The determined aspect of Mr Rogers induced Mr Morton to send for a constable to protect him from the violence of Mr Rogers, who was forthwith marched to the police station. The case will be heard on Monday, at tho court, unless it can be previously settled by mutual arrangement.
