(Per Press, Telegram Agenoy.) This day,
Frightful AccidentConstable rienry Vernon, of Green Island, was found fearfully mutilated in the Caversham railway tunnel yesterday. The deceased was on duty at the racecourse on Saturday until half-past six. It is not yet kno.vn whether he fell from the train or was run over when walking through the tunnel. He waa considered a thoroughly steady and efficient officer.
The total amount taken at the Knox church bazaar amounted to £2 COO.
