(From our own Correspondent.) This day. ; The first set of races under the Coromandel Turf Club for St. Patrick's Day is likely to prove a very great success. There are eight nominations ior the Coromandel Handicap Plate, and seven for the Burble race. A large number of visitors are expected from the ThamesIf we had' any owner of a steamer interested in Coromandel, we might look for an excursion party from Auckland on Eriday. Nothing from the mines since Saturday. Owing to the drought [Bennett's battery has stopped crushing. Should this dry weather continue no crushings can he carried on which will be a great loss to the Tokatea and Bismarck companies.
