By telegraphic advice received to-day, we learn that the Al clipper barque, Queen of the Sea, 500 tons, was on the berth at Hobarfe Town, for this port, to sail 1 about the 24th ult., with a full cargo of posts and rails, timber, jims, fruit, etc., consigned to Messrs H. S Meyers and Co. We learn that the telegram from Helena ville relative to the schooner Melaine is in correct. Tbe veesel has not been driven up on the beach nor sprung in the deck. She is ia a perfectly sound condition. A meeting ot the United Order of Free Templars took place on Tueaday evening last, in t.he Star of Freedom Lodge, Cook-street. The place was well filled by members of bo'.h sexes. A number of speeches were made by Biron C. de Thieny, the substance of the whole of them being that tbe .Maoris were willing to jo'n the order in every part of the country, and to open Lodges in many of their kaingas. The general feeling seems to be that a little e_er£etie action on the part of the society would be crowned with success. The onward pace of the United Order of Free Templars has increased step by step, since it was established in Auckland. During its course it has made a host of friends among the European and Maoris'. The Maori's around, who were, (as usual) sceptics at first, have now come to acknowledge its reality and ustfulmss. The aged and grey Maori chiefs appear happy to shew their willingness to receive the establishment of the order among them in every place on the coa>-t. At one of the United Order ofFree Templars meetings held at Whangarei Are Kahauara Te Whareumu addresser! the meeting between a song and a hymn, in words to the following effect: O, friends let 'the leafy boughs of this tree, friendship, spread its flowery branches over the people of this country.— Communicated.
