The performance of this remarkable rerialist was given-"last night under very unfavoiuable circumstances. A penetrating drizzle began about a quarter of an hour before the time set for tho commencement and continued the whole time of the exhibition. This of course tended to tbiu the number of ihose who paid at the gates, and the assemblage was select rather than numerous. The Ciiovalier, nothing daunted by the wind and rain, appeared first dressed in the Warlike habilaa, en ts of a knight ar-d marched in slow time across the rope. He next repeated the transit in quick time. Dolling his military attire, Blondin in his becoming acrobitlc costume, which so well displays the muscular proportions of his limbs and chest, again ventured on his slender path acd went through some Of his startling variatio' s —such as standing on one leg, sitting down, lying down, raising himself on one leg, and finally standing on his head on the line. In all these performances he was I wily cheered. He then had his eyes bound round with a bandage, and a sack thr wn o?er his head. Thus blindroldel ho accomplished the passige just as easily as before, thougn his feints a. filling drew cries of alarm from the ladies ; he afterwards cooked an omelette on the rope, having previously carried his apparatus into the centre of thi rope on his tuck ; this was done in the most approved fashion, and wiih a skill that would not have disgnced a cook on terra fmna, ana the result was passed round to be testaa by the ladies and gentlemen pr-sent; the exhibition was concluded by the great funambulist carrying his agent over on his baok.
