\ Yesterday Detective Parrell apprehended George Heyde Campbell on a charge of forgery. Campbell was a member of the firm of Culvert and Campbell, crockeryware merchants, in Dnnedin, and occupied a respectable position." He has been in San Fraucisco since he has been away, but latterly he resided, in Auckland, where he has been doing some business. He is remanded to Dunedin. This day. j > Scullers Race. < Owing to .thei protest entered against Hearn being paid the stakes in the scullers race, it was pulled over again this morning. Hearn started with the lead, which he increased to the finish, coming in fiist by 30 or *10 lengths ; Pasooe second ; Turnbull third, 'being the same relative position as in the former contest.
